Was Allan Holdsworth the soulmate you needed to introduce jazz within mainstream?
BB: Well, Allan was not only my favourite guitarist, but it was screamingly obvious that the
Americans had never heard anything like him, a fact subsequently picked up on by Eddie Van
Halen, Al Di Miola and others. I was just lucky to have the right vehicle available at the right
time for him to do his thing.
